METAL TO THE CORE!

Have you all beautiful people heard of Metallica? Iron Maiden? Or the new age phenomenons; Avenged Sevenfold? Of Mice & Men? If not, and if you're a music lover like me better check these guys out. Now, referring to this post's title, i'll be writing about Metal music (well, obviously like duhh). Needless to say mostly people will have some negative impressions towards Metal, such as "Deafening", "Utter Violence", "Complete Crap" and so on but to me it's not. There's more than just sheer violence to Metal. For example, the harsh and heavy tune will stimulates your senses, it'll keep you in conscious state. "what about those horrible screams and vocals? can't they just sing properly?" asked a random Miss Derpette when she tried to listen to a metal song in my music playlist. *sigh* Metal is a form of music. Music is a form of art and art is infinite. There is no boundaries in creating an art. Everyone got different tastes in appreciating things, arguing about it is like arguing which ice cream flavor that you and me like is better.

Despite all the heavy tunes in metal songs, most of them contain deep, beautiful and meaningful lyrics. For example from the song below by Of Mice & Men, titled Second & Sebring.

I believe it's time for me to be famous
And out of place.
I believe it's time for me to move for forward
When I break through.
When I break through.
When I break through.
When I break through.

This time I'll make you
Proud to see me over come on day light.
Proud of who you raised.
Your shelter, your peacefulness.
So this time I'll make you proud.

Proud of who you raised up.
You know that I will always be here 'til the end.

Come back so I can say thank you for this.
Home cooked meals and a place to rest
My troubled head when you're away.
I've passed the test, I've earned an A,
Not just in school, but in life.
You'll always be right by my side
To help me show hope to all
That are lost and sick in this dying world.
I'll use the love you left behind,
I'll change their minds, I'll change their minds.

I hope, I hope you smile
When you look down on me.
I hope you smile.

This can't, we won't know.
I hope that I make you proud.

This is not what it is, only baby scars.
I need your love like a boy needs his mother's side.
This is not what it is, only baby scars.
I need your love like a boy needs his mother's side.

This is not what it is, only baby scars.
I need your love like a boy needs his mother''s side.

Last but not least, "One does not simply judge a book by it's cover". Have a nice day. Ciao.

Baraka - Boy, That Escalated Quickly

Hello readers, welcome to my Media Appreciation Blog. This post is about Baraka, a non-narrative film we had watched during the last class before holiday. At first i was quite skeptical by the thought of watching a movie which had no dialogues at all, i had a feeling that it would bore me to death during the whole session. But obviously i was wrong, the film was somewhat an intense journey and full of mixed emotions. For me, Baraka tells the story of the Earth, a revelation of 'untouched' civilizations and  how due to modernization, humans destroyed the beauty it holds bit by bit.

I remembered a scene of Muslims performing their Hajj. So many people converged into one place, walking in circles in front the Kaabah. I was so into it and the echoes of the Azan made me felt like i was there, facing the magnificent Kaabah. The whole scene got me recalled all my wrong doings and how i abandoned my religion while growing up.

That's all for today folks,

Cheers!
